Miles Davis - Live-Evil mp3 flac

Live-Evil is an album of both live and studio recordings by American jazz musician Miles Davis. They were performed as lengthy, dense jams in the jazz-rock style, while the studio recordings were renditions of Hermeto Pascoal compositions. The album was originally released on November 17, 1971.

Live-Evil ‎(2xLP, Album). Columbia, Columbia, Columbia. CG 30954, G 30954, 30954. Truly a heavy-duty-epic, "Live Evil" marked an end to the late '60's early fusion period of "In A Silent Way" - "Filles de Kilimangero" - "A Tribute To Jack Johnson" - "Bitches Brew" for Miles Davis. Tons of great percussion with multiple organs highlight these live tracks for me. Maybe it takes a couple listens to grow on you but after listening to it on a 90 minute tape loop for 10 hours straight after a New Years all-nighter in 2002-03 it became to me unmatched and a pinnacle LP in the Miles catalog.

The first in a continuing series of double-LP extravaganzas released only in Japan in the early '70s, Live-Evil mixes four studio tracks from 1970 with four live ones taken from a Washington, . performance in December of that year. Amidst heavy competition, the live tracks - including "What I Say," "Sivad" and "Gemini Double Image" - are the highlights, featuring some of Miles' best playing of the decade, plus aggressive work on extended solo spots by John McLaughlin on guitar, Keith Jarrett on keyboards, and Jack DeJohnette on drums

About Live-Evil . The Live-Evil LP features two pictures, a life drawing and an evil drawing. Both are drawn by Mati Klarwein, who also did Miles Davis' Bitches Brew. Live-Evil " Track Info. Live-Evil Miles Davis. 8. Inamorata and Narration by Conrad Roberts.

Live-Evil (1970) by Miles Davis is a double live album which features different settings of Miles Davis' bands. One of such recordings is of a 1970 gig at the Cellar Door, which featured a band comprised of Miles, bassist Michael Henderson, drummer Jack DeJohnette, guitarist John McLaughlin, saxophonist Gary Barts, and Keith Jarrett. The group is groovy, fast, and funky. The other setting was recorded with Ron Carter, Dave Holland, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock among others. This record is complex, but somehow still groovy.

Live-Evil is an album by American jazz musician Miles Davis, released on November 17, 1971, by Columbia Records. Parts of the album comprise live recordings of Davis' 1970 performance at the Cellar Door, which producer Teo Macero subsequently pieced together in production. It also features his recordings at Columbia's Studio B, with different personnel, on February 6 and June 3–4, 1970. Live Evil is the first official live album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The previously released Live at Last (1980) was not sanctioned by the band. Live Evil peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. The Live Evil album was recorded on the Mob Rules tour. The sleeve states that the songs were recorded in Seattle, San Antonio and Dallas during the 1982 tour in support of the Mob Rules album, but doesn't give the venues or recording dates for the individual tracks.

Wow! I wonder who is the lucky one with the signature of Miles on the cover..
Marr
To my ears....good pressing! why do I have to put 10 words in??

Any comments on the quadrophonic mix of this masterpiece?I'm new to miles I arrived via the post punk route. I've always favoured live albums and the day this arrived I just couldn't stop playing it and now I see its influence everywhere , PiL's Paris Au Printemps, Jah wobble's Largely live in...(I forget where) etc etcI really admire the way Miles got some primitive Punky proto-Keith Levene tones out of a pro like John McLaughlin. (See the outtakes Duran & Johnny Bratton on YouTube for the most hardcore examples)"Play it like you can't play guitar"I love Pangea, Agharta, Black Magus, but they're a different animal entirely. ( i hated the low quality badly recorded "in concert" , it was like listening through a keyhole)Nervous newcomers dipping a toe in these waters should start with the more accessible Live Evil and be bowled over by the exuberance of the live material. If this show inspires you to go on to collect other shows just be aware that December 19th and Feb 21st are the only 1970 shows with guitar.Miles finally added a permanent live guitarist ( then a second , then a third!) From 1972 but by then the music was totally different and much darker. So Live Evil is Utterly Unique capturing a unique moment of musical discovery for Miles and his band, how many Live Albums can say that?
Dalarin
I noticed some interesting mix characteristics even on a non quad turntable, instruments seemed to be coming from places either side of my two stereo speakers. Something that doesn't happen with the CD version. My imagination?
Samulkis
Well the pressing quality on my record sounds good as there is no skips or clicks or warps. .not sure what the source audios are to make the record ? Overall id say the sound is decent not amazing kinda flat .I wouldnt say this is bad beard . As for the music :Miles is playing with an amazing line up on live evil .it really shows on this recording as the music is very tight creative and selective. full of emotion yet performed with careful precision. "What I say" is pretty cool high energy madness . John McLaughlins guitar playing is smoken & Jack DeJohnette drum solo is has some interesting patterns going on .the mellow tunes are very atmospheric .somewhat of spacey ballads , you can tell hancock and shorter were involved in those .
Adaly
Very happy with the sound quality on this. I only have a few 4MWB pressings, none of which are bad, but they're also not great. That being said, this is the best sounding pressing of the bunch. Super quiet, dynamic, clear channel separation, tight low end, and sparkling highs. This was going to be a placeholder until I could get an original, but I'm satisfied enough with this that I likely won't seek out another copy.
Clonanau
beard-up my 666EVIL666LIFE :-))) )

How's the sound quality on this release? I'm very interested...
Wiliniett
Sounds really good to me. No surface noise, crackles and all that negative stuff. Own lots MOV albums and they are on top of vinyl business sound wise with few others. I'm no audiophile but I would recommend this.
Pedar
Has anybody actually seen the poster? Anyone has a picture?
Llbery
I don't have this, but beware of 4 Men With Beards pressings.

I've heard almost nothing but bad things about 4MWB and its sister label Plain Recordings. Good thing I have these labels on my 'to-avoid list', and good thing too I've never bought anything from them.Just on the grounds of Plain/4MWB's reputation alone, and the fact that you especially can't trust how they master longer albums like this one (side lengths in excess of 26 minutes - the Mr. Bungle S/T and Disco Volante reissues seem to be the worst in that respect), I'm pretty sure this release is a must to avoid.I have the Music On Vinyl pressing. While I haven't listened closely to the sound quality, it seems to sound pretty good, and it's on silent, rock-solid 180g Record Industry wax. Shame about the blurry print on the cover though.

Are you sure that this release has 2 "back-covers"?I have a canadian pressing and it has the original artwork.

Badass sleeve design. So much better than the original.
