Melodie (real name Ramona Parker, born in Flatbush, Brooklyn) was a emcee married to KRS-One in 1988, and was associated with his group Boogie Down Productions until the couple's divorce in 1992. Her first release was the 1988 12-inch single "Hype According to Ms. Melodie", which, like most of her records, was produced by KRS-One.

Melodie, the stage name of Ramona Parker (née Scott; March 21, 1969 – July 17, 2012), was an American emcee. She was associated with KRS-One's group Boogie Down Productions (BDP) and was for a time married to KRS-One. She was described by Vibe as "one of the ladies who could sonically spar with the fellas, spit raw lyrics, rhyme from a female's perspective, and hold their ow.

Melodie released her first single in 1988 called Hype According to Ms. Melodie and one album, Diva in 1989 on Jive Records. Her video Live On Stage was one of her biggest hits and she made a memorable appearance on the 1989 single Self Destruction and has a cameo in Queen Latifah’s video Ladies First. Along the way, some of us lost focus. The love in my heart remained. Scott La Rock, KRS-One, D-Nice, Ms Melodie, & the rest of the BDP crew will always be a part of hip-hip history. Ms Melodie was a native of Brooklyn, NY and is survived by two sons. There is no cause of death known at this time, but we will have more on this story as it develops.
