Songs of Experience is the 14th studio album by Irish rock band U2. Released on 1 December 2017, it was produced by Jacknife Lee and Ryan Tedder with Steve Lillywhite, Andy Barlow, Jolyon Thomas, Brent Kutzle, Paul Epworth, Danger Mouse, and Declan Gaffney. The album is intended to be a companion piece to U2's previous record, Songs of Innocence (2014).
The album never materialized in the Fall of 2009 as Bono had promised, nor had the single he promised, Every Breaking Wave although it would be performed live 3 times on the U2360 tour in 2010. By mid-2010, U2 had started working with Danger Mouse on recordings, and that was to be the continuation of Songs of Ascent. During this time they also spoke about other albums they had worked on with producers such as David Guetta, RedOne and will.
U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. The band formed in 1976 and released their debut EP Three in 1979 exclusively in Ireland. Following the release of their single "Another Day" in 1980, U2 signed a recording contract with Island Records, and released their first album, Boy, later that year. The band has since released 14 studio albums, the most recent being Songs of Experience in 2017. U2 Lyrics by Title – U. om. U2 by Song Title – U2Wanderer.
The album Songs of Experience is the studio album released by U2 in 2017. The title is taken from the work of William Blake, Songs of Innocence and of Experience, in the late 1700s, and the album is a follow up to U2’s own album Songs of Innocence, released in 2014, and it is U2’s fourteenth studio album. The album was started in earnest during rehearsals for 2015’s Innocence and Experience tour, as the band worked with Joylon Thomas as rehearsals commenced in Vancouver for that tour
Affected by politics and mortality, U2 set up their own rock ‘n’ roll sanctuary city on Songs of Experience. Kendrick Lamar’s fiery rhymes bridge the motivational Get Out of Your Own Way and the stomper American Soul. Red Flag Day invokes refugees’ plight to the sound of the band's early days-Edge’s slashing riffs, Adam Clayton’s counter bass, Larry Mullen J. s steady kit fitness, and Bono’s big-sky vocals.

U2 took the stage at London's Wembley Stadium for Live Aid, the multi-city concert for famine relief in Africa that would feature the music industry’s greatest acts and biggest names. The band would play two songs in just under 20 minutes
Current tour, U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018. Appearing before an enthusiastic and select crowd of fans who won last week's Close to the Edge competition on the station, the band played Elevation, Stuck In a Moment, New York and Beautiful Day.
U2's last album, 2014's Songs of Innocence, was overshadowed by the PR stunt that accompanied the record's release. Lesson learned, but the controversy pretty much steamrolled over everything else about the album.
