The Strokes - Future Present Past EP mp3 flac

Album: Future Present Past EP. Released: 2016. Previously on NewAlbumReleases. net: January 13, 2019 - The Strokes – Essentials (2019). March 21, 2013 - The Strokes – Comedown Machine (2013). March 18, 2011 - The Strokes – Angles (2011).

Future Present Past is the second EP by American band The Strokes, released on June 3, 2016 through Cult Records. The title represents each song: "Drag Queen" refers to the "future", "OBLIVIUS" – the "present", and "Threat of Joy" – the "past".

Complete your The Strokes collection. If you actually intend to listen to the songs more than once or twice, this is a case where the digital or streaming sounds better. Jules' vocals are too deeply buried beneath the guitars, especially on parts of Threat of Joy.

The Strokes could do anything right now. They could open up a vintage shoppe in Queens. They could release an album full of Gun Club covers. They could retire and head upstate to knit baskets in Rochester. Really, they could do whatever pleases them. Not so, as they’ve returned with a dizzying four-track EP titled Future Present Past, only further exacerbating our confusion. For starters, the band haven’t released an EP since 2001’s The Modern Age, their iconic three-track debut that spawned a hellish bidding war between record labels at a time when America could still hop on airplanes with ease. So, it’s strange to see the group revisit the medium, and it provokes a range of theories.

On their newest EP, The Strokes continue to perform The Strokes for a new generation of younger and casual listeners. When I asked how they liked 2013’s Comedown Machine, the answer was What’s that? So it ends up being sort of nice that Future Present Past, their first new release in three years and first EP since 2001’s scene-starting The Modern Age, is only so long as an EP. On 2011's Angles and Comedown Machine, there was too much going on-and, quite simply, too much. Here, there’s just enough to think about without getting fatigued, as the Strokes continue to toy with the sound of their late period

The Strokes recorded Future Present Past in New York and Austin in 2015 with producer Gus Oberg. It marks their first new material since 2013’s Comedown Machine. The EP was released on June 3rd, 2016 on Julian Casablancas‘ label Cult Records. The four-track EP acts as a crossroads, drawing sounds from their previous albums Room On Fire and Comedown Machine, while also giving a peek into what can be expected from the next Strokes album. If you actually intend to listen to the songs more than once or twice, this is a case where the digital or streaming sounds better. Jules' vocals are too deeply buried beneath the guitars, especially on parts of Threat of Joy. For the prices this 4 song vinyl is fetching you ought to be a serious Strokes fan/completist.
Malalrajas
This EP is amazing. I can’t wait to see what they do next, as Comedown Machine was also incredible, best since Room on Fire.
Hra
I had two copies of this (one I still have). The first copy I received in June and there was a terrible, loud, scratchy and defective sound throughout both sides. Cult sent me a second copy, which had the same problem (not as bad as the first copy though). I would steer clear of paying high $$$ for the orange pressing. I have the blue and yellow pressings and they both sound great. Orange however seems to have issues.
Lilegha
Wow, pressing quality or mix is bad. Or is it just me?
Gindian
Woeful mix. Definitely agree! Pressing seems ok, only a wee bit of crackle between tracks. It's just really muddy!!
Moonshaper
what color is the vinyl? words words words
Dream
The vinyl is as black as it can words words
Mikale

Akinohn
I believe so, I have added this to my collection as I have a black one.
BoberMod
are the vocals on Drag Queen supposed to sound sped up?
Punind
everything this band does sounds odd to me, calm down!
Uafrmaine
Just spinning it for the first time and it sounds odd to me as well. But, Oblivius sounds fine
Zulurr
I noticed that also. that's just how the vocals are on the track. his voice was a little higher pitch on that track.

The album title is "Future Present Past", not "Future Past Present".
